Jellyfish
We have been reading the story Jellies in class this week. Today we created our own jellyfish and wrote fact and opinion statements on the tentacles.

We created monsters for Halloween. Each student designed their own monster and then they had to use descriptive writing to describe their monster in detail.

Pumpkin Book Report Project
The students have been working hard on their pumpkin book reports all month. Today we got to hear all of the wonderful reports and see all of the character pumpkins. The students did an excellent job and I was so impressed by all of their reports.

Super Storms!!
This week we read the book Super Storms. As we were reading, we discussed the main idea and identified the many details that we learned. The students really enjoyed making their own thunderstorm clouds which diplay the main idea and the many rain drops which display the details of the book!
Columbus Day
On Monday, we learned all about Columbus and his journey to America. Afterwards, the students pretended that they were Columbus, and wrote about what they would have done if they discovered America.

Xylophone
Today the students leaned how to conduct an investigation and make predictions. During this investigation, the students made xylophones and learned how to play "Mary Had a Little Lamb."
Bubble Gum Fun!
We were learning about sequencing so we decided to write about how to blow a bubble. The students really enjoyed teaching each other how to blow a bubble. Their writing pieces turned out so cute! I am so proud of my students!

Caterpillar Book Reports
The students have been working hard the past month on these book reports. They included predictions, main characters, problems, solutions, settings, questions, and personal responses. They turned out GREAT!!
Macy's Day Parade Balloons
We have been working hard using our Comprehension Toolkit. Last week we read Balloons over Broadway. It is a book about how the Macy's Day Parade started. As part of our toolkit we used questioning and sequencing to create our own balloons for the parade.
