Haley

We learned about more multiplication and we took our 10 test today. We watched a video on whole fractions. We took a benchmark test in reading. Mrs. Ussery read us more Percy Jackson after we ate lunch. In science, we learned about germination and other stuff. We did Mountain Math this morning. Then Mrs. Ussery told us about just right books. We had to take off our shoes and switched them with someone else to show that if we don't get the right book we won't be happy just like our shoes. Then we got our reading grades at the end of the day.

Tyler

We took our spelling test today and I made a 103. We also took our 2 mutliplication test. I made a B on my test. Today we learned needs and wants. A need is something that you need to survive. A want is something you want because somebody else has it or you think it is cool. I have learned how to multiply by 0, 1, 2, and 10. It was something new. I also learned how to say no to our wants. I leared how to say yes to things we need to survive without dying. I learne dthat it is important to do good in school so you can have a good degree. I also learned how to draw an array for multiplication because it is quicker. We also learned a lot about history from our book reports.

5.I have a chart. If I do good on a multiplication test, I get a sticker.
6. I get a reading log every Friday.

Today we took a test on our 0 & 1 multiplication facts. Then we watch If I Made a Million for reading. I learned how to count money. In language arts, we looked at the Great Pyramids. The Great  Pyramids still have tombs in them. I had birthday cookies with my class. It was yummy! I hope we get a tadpole so we can have a class pet. It will be fun to watch it grow.

Kayla's Blog

I enjoy learning and each day we learn something new in class. Today we learned about a lot of different things. Out of all the things we talked about today, there were three things that stood out to me the most. We learned about how we get food and drink from some animals. For example, a cow can produce milk for us to drink and we can get meat from a cow like beef as well. We also learned about how animals die if they have no food to eat. We also learned about multiplication. Which I'm looking forward to becoming better at throughout the year as I continue to enjoy third grade.

Food Web

This week we have been studying food chains and food webs. Yesterday we created our own food web to show the relationship among different plants and animals. We also discovered what happens when one animal becomes endangered or extinct.

Verb Flash Cards

Yesterday, we learned that verbs show action. To understand this concept better, we created verb flash cards. Each student received a letter from the alphabet and created a verb card. Below are a few of our class cards.

Paws for Reading

Our classroom is participating in the Scholastic Classroom Care's program called Paws for Reading. Through this program the students are able to help donate books to children around the world. Each student has chosen to be on the cats' or dogs' team. When a student reads for 20 minutes, one book is donated. Last week our class read  1,511 minutes  and was able to donate 75 books. I am so proud of them. Keep up the GREAT work! We hope to be able to donate more books this week when we log our hours on Friday.

Our Class Plant

The two plants on the outside are pea plants and the two plants in the middle are green bean plants.

Parker's Blog

We learned about landforms in Social Studies. I liked the other kinds of landforms I saw. I liked the plateau.  I learned about pendemonium. Pendemonium is different kinds of words that may be nouns but some may not.
